I have collected a very wide range of different National Day presentations I have created, from throughout the year, such as Science Day, Commonwealth Day, European Day of Languages, Mountain Day and Pancake Day, to name but just a few of them!
I love guided reading. I love to get the children to discover more from every book they read. I like my students to look at the same book from different viewpoints, such as by using Thinking Hats to get more out of each book. I have created a wide range of different worksheets which you can use time and again with different books. Try them today.
I collected together thousands of different report comments used by the QCA to describe learning outcomes and created a whole school report writing tool for every class in a primary schools. It will save you hours and hours when you write your reports. I can now write all my school reports in an afternoon or a couple of evenings.
I have used this set of report writing comments for the last 10 years. I have included a link to help you download the freeware report writing software and also a step by step guide to help you get the most out of this wonderful software.
I have gone through hundreds of different teaching schemes written by the QCA and I have re-written their learning outcomes as report comments. It is now possible to simply click the different things a student has achieved in a specific topic and cut and paste it into your school reports.
I have made sure that for English and Maths, that it is possible to differentiate between high, middle and lower achieving children. Each report is still written with a single child in mind, and so every report still comes out unique and special to that student. The difference being you now simply add their name, their sex and click on the statements which are relevant to them.
In the past, I have received great praise for this material and often it has been described as a life or career saver, when teachers needed to produce a complete set of high quality teaching resources in a very short time.
Please note - due to the huge number of different files and comments I have produced, it is still possible there will be an occasional typo in the comments bank. Please read and check your reports after writing them to make sure they are perfect before sending them out.
This is my bundle for teaching about terrorism and why it is important to work towards peace. I have also written a child friend version of what to do should your school or a public place be attacked by terrorists. These resources could be used as part of a display or to help prompt the students to discuss the issues in the classroom.
Here are 34 different pictures of fruit, which are perfect as a PowerPoint presentation, or to be used in a wall display.
It comes complete with a 31 Teaching Activity Teacher Guide to help you get the most out of your teaching and this purchase.
Each slide is shown twice.
The first time, there is the name and the fruit to help students to learn the names of the different fruits.
The second time, they play the presenation as a game. They choose a random number from a game menu and name the fruit. They then click on the picture to see the name of the fruit.
There are endless ways of using this presentation. If you put the numbers 1 to 34 in a hat and asked the students to write down the names of 5 fruits they saw in the presentation, you could even make this presentation into a highly interactive game of fruit bingo.
Are you looking at different materials and fabrics? Are you wanting to use some visual support to make your lesson more effective? I have collected 30 photos of fabrics which your students are free to sort into different groups and discuss.
You could look at it directly as a presentation and discuss the different materials being shown in each of photos.
You could print off and laminate the photos to make an interesting, eye-catching display about different fabrics.
The students could also take the laminated photos and sort them into different types of fabrics. The students can then discuss why they think each one was used or something they could make with it.
The photos could also be used as prompts for creative writing, factual writing or descriptive writing.
FREE - Room On A Broom Red Thinking Hat Reading Questions - Thinking About Feelings Is Fun!
Room on a broom is one of the best selling children's books on Amazon and yet it has hardly any resources listed on the TES. As obviously lots of teachers and students love this book, I thought I would make it into a series of worksheets.
I would love some feedback about what you think about this set of worksheets.

FREE The Magic Train Yellow Thinking Hat Worksheets Make Looking On The Bright Side More Fun!
These worksheets were originally written for 'The Magic Train' (Published by Barefoot books). However some of them could easily be used for absolutely any other book.

FREE The Magic Train Red Hat Thinking Questions - Helps Put Some Feeling Into Guided Reading
I have read everywhere how important Thinking Hat Questions are when it comes to reading. However, when I looked on the TES for lots of examples of other teachers work, I could not find a lot. I have now set myself the task of creating as many Thinking Hat Guided Reading Questions as possible for all the best selling picture books. It is a long term plan and you will need to be patient if this is not the book you were wanting. If you tell me which book you want, I will complete is as my next book. Please review these Red Hat Feeling worksheets and tell me how to improve them.
The Gruffalo is a great resource for exploring children's feelings and emotions. These three Red Hat Thinking worksheets help to guide their reading and their emotional learning skills. The worksheets are easy to differentiate and will help develop a deeper understanding of the characters.
I would love to have teachers comment on these worksheets after they have used them in the classroom.
After the Paris terrorist attack, good advice came out from homeland security on what to do if you face an attack. However it was focused on adults and not child friendly. I thought I would create a simple book which explains to children what is now recommended in the case of an active shooter attack. You should however still point out that this is an incredibly unlikely event - but one students now need to be prepared for.
When I used the original book with an interactive whiteboard, I was always annoyed at having to skim to the end of the book to show an answer. I wanted it on the next page.
In addition, I have now replaced all the pictured with much more stimulating colourful pictures. I have also taken the time to follow the advice of Dudley council and sorted the different problems into age groups and blocks.
You will notice there is some repetition of problems both between blocks and in different year groups. The students can try the same problem twice at different times, as this is excellent consolidation. It is also an excellent time to suggest students think about how they could change the problem.
How can this be used in the classroom?
This could be used as an assessment at the start or the end of a unit. It also could be used as an emergency set of lessons for any teacher while covering another teacher’s maths classes.
In addition, it is also an excellent set of resources to prepare for different exams. Look at how the students resolve a problem and identify the different ways different students attempt to answer the same problem.
In addition to answering the problems, this is also an excellent time to look into inverse operations. How do we know we have found all the answers? How do we know we have found the correct answer?
I have really enjoyed making these mental maths problems a lot more accessible. I have enjoyed teaching them in a wide range of different classes and I hope that you too will enjoy making maths fun.
